The lone Republican on CNN, Scott Jennings, reflected last night on the growing power of “clippers” (We also discussed on Monday). Speaking to Emily Jashinsky, he observed:
“Immediately, people were clipping these [CNN] moments ... within minutes of these little exchanges, they are going viral… having a real impact on and affecting how people discuss the discourse and direction of [the 2024] campaign.
I started to notice there was like this little cadre of guys who are really good at clipping stuff in a hurry - picking out the best 90-seconds… and having a really outsized impact on how people were interpreting the events of the day… now, people walk up to me all the time and say “I don’t have time to watch the news but I watch your clip and it helps me understand what’s happening.”
