Admitting you have a problem is the first step to recovery.
For The New York Times, that apparently meant admitting they didn’t have anyone keeping an eye on conservative new media, particularly shows with male hosts. According to The Neiman Lab, the Times built an internal AI monitoring system called the “Manosphere Report” to keep tabs on the likes of Ben Shapiro and Clay Travis.
It’s a good first step, but the Times should still hire a reporter or two who understands the right. Better yet, a subscription to The Brand Brief will fill that gap. - NRB
