The renewed outrage over Anthony Fauci didn’t emerge in a vacuum.
Conservative voices either pioneered COVID and Fauci skepticism or have since embraced the “MAHA-ification” of the right. This broader shift away from trusting the medical establishment was fueled by COVID-era overreach, Big Tech censorship, and the demonization of many of these voices.
While health remains a niche in conservative media, female voices like Alex Clark and Isabel Brown have built large platforms around it. Even Matt Walsh’s hit documentary “What is a Woman?” succeeded not just by spotlighting the transgender movement, but by exposing the medical industry profiting from it.
Bottom line: institutional trust crumbled following COVID, and Fauci was the poster boy for the failures, deception, and malfeasance of that era. - NRB
